Manage tasks visually with the Kanban board view.

How It Works

The Kanban board organizes tasks into columns by status:

  • Not Started - Tasks waiting to begin
  • In Progress - Active work
  • Pending Approval - Awaiting sign-off
  • Completed - Finished tasks

Moving Tasks

Drag and drop tasks between columns to update their status. The change is saved automatically.

Task Cards

Each task appears as a card showing:

  • Task name
  • Due date
  • Assignees (avatars)
  • Priority indicator
  • Tags

Grouping Options

Group tasks by different criteria:

  • By Status (default)
  • By Calendar
  • By Assignee
  • By Priority

Filtering

Filter the board to focus on specific tasks:

  • Select calendars
  • Choose assignees
  • Filter by tags
  • Show/hide completed tasks

Best Practices

  1. Use it as your close war room — the Kanban board is the best real-time view of where each task stands during active close days
  2. Keep “In Progress” tight — if too many tasks are in progress simultaneously, preparers may be spreading too thin
  3. Review it in the daily close standup — drag tasks to their correct column at the start of each day
  4. Watch the “Pending Approval” column — bottlenecks here mean approvers need to act; use an update request if a task has been waiting more than a day
  5. Archive completed tasks — filter out Completed status to keep the board focused on open work
